Old Navy strives to make shopping fun and fashion affordable for the whole family. Thus our challenge was to work with Gap Inc. to develop a store that would entice all ages to shop in an enjoyable way. Old Navy stores are known for their large open spaces, which allow extensive visual merchandising possibilities.

The Old Navy flagship store at the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota illustrates the slogan that "shopping is fun again." The festive tone established by the theater marquee storefront is reinforced by the creative displays using industrial objects such as washing machines, freezer cases and telephone booths.

McCall Design Group has recently assisted Gap, Inc. to develop a prototype set of details for the new Old Navy design concept. Bay Street in Emeryville, CA (opened in November, 2002) was the first store completed under the new concept with a metal panel façade and a sporty new interior. The design is straightforward and hip, characteristic of the Old Navy brand.
