The new W Hotel in Chicago City Center was the result of a close collaboration between McCall Design Group, Shopworks and W Design Group. The project involved the transformation of an existing hotel, adjoining public spaces and guestrooms into a contemporary hotel that would extend the W brand, and set it apart from its relatively staid local competition.

Working closely with the client, McCall Design Group crafted a palette of materials, elements, and surface treatments that would characterize the brand experience of the W, and set it apart from its Chicago counterparts. We combined elegant artifacts from the past with modern amenities geared towards the contemporary traveler. The result is a glamourous and materially rich environment, that establishes the W as an oasis of cool in the heart of Chicago.
